Achvarasdal House is situated on the outskirts of the village of Reay, Caithness.  The service is registered by the Care Inspectorate for 25 clients, with a variation of 28.  There are 25 en-suite rooms, 3 of which can be used as doubles should there be availability. Who come from all parts of Caithness and Sutherland.   The outlook from the rooms is on to expansive gardens.   In the winter the Roe Deer come through the forest onto the lawns and we have a delightfully varied species of wild life and birds.

The current inspection report can be viewed on the care inspectorate website or a copy requested from the service.

There is a surfaced driveway and footpaths in the forest that have wheelchair access, which enables the service users to take advantage of the grounds.

Activities

The activities programme reflects the interests of all who choose to make their home at Achvarasdal House.   Fulfilment for you is essential.

  • The Church Guild meet monthly within the home, and residents are welcome to join them if they wish.
  • The Friend’s Group visits monthly and organises social events.

Accommodation

The rooms have to be viewed to be appreciated.   There are two communal lounges off the main corridor.There are flexi-meal times, which are served in the dining room or if you choose, in your room – special dietary requirements will be catered for.   Local produce and home baking are served daily.
