We have an opportunity for an experienced Payroll Assistant to assist in the processing of payroll services within the Finance section ensuring that agreed timescales, legislative and audit requirements are met.  For this role you will need to have experience of working with financial data and be able to carry out accurate data entry.

Salary is pro rata of 38.5 hours per week.

Main Function

To assist in the processing of payroll services within the Finance section ensuring that agreed timescales, legislative and audit requirements are met.

Main Duties

  1. To be responsible for a particular area of the payroll as agreed with the Payroll Supervisor.
  2. To input all necessary data to the payroll system to ensure employees are set up/deleted from the system and are paid accurately and within agreed timescales.
  3. To ensure that all statutory payments are made and make deductions ensuring CrossReach complies with current legislation.
  4. To ensure that payslips are printed, sealed and distributed to meet agreed timescales.
  5. To provide clarification, advice and guidance to staff and managers regarding all payments made.
  6. To run reports and provide statistical information from the payroll system, as required by the Payroll Supervisor and or Business Partner.
  7. To provide guidance to Services in processing and authorising of all salary and expenses payments.
  8. To complete and return authorised requests for information i.e. mortgage references requests etc. within agreed timescales.
  9. To be responsible for the upkeep of accurate filing systems.
  10. To be involved in the development of the Payroll System to meet the needs of the Business Review.
  11. To undertake any other duties as specified by the Payroll Supervisor or Business Partner.

Skills and Abilities

Essential:

  • Postholder must possess basic computer literacy skills including use of Microsoft Office and the internet.
  • Experience of working with financial data
