We offer residential care to older people with various abilities and support needs, both in Clashfarquhar House itself and Ivy Bank Cottage which sits within the grounds.

We also have a facility for day care, which offers a wide range of activities.

Clashfarquar is situated in the centre of the Stonehaven, close to all amenities and on the local bus route.

Accommodation you can feel at home in
Clashfarquar House has 20 flats, each with a sittingroom, bedroom, fitted kitchen (with microwave) and an en-suite shower room. There are bathrooms within the home for anyone wishing to bath independently or with assistance. Television and telephone points are located in each apartment.

A a resident of Clashfarquar you are encouraged to bring your own possessions, redecorate and re-carpet your flat according to your preference and to help you feel at home.

There are several communal lounge areas, furnished to a very high standard, where you can meet your fellow residents and enjoy activities together.

A call-system allows you to request assistance twenty-four hours a day in all areas of the building.

We pride ourselves on the high standard of our catering – delicious, nutritious and able to accommodate special diets.

Ivy Bank Cottage comprises two self-contained flats and two bed-sits with a communal conservatory and laundry. Ivy Bank Cottage is designed with the more able and independent in mind. It is very comfortable and well situated for all amenities.

Day care
Within Clashfarquar, but separate from the residential area, is a facility for day care. This has up to twelve places and operates five days a week to meet demand. We offer a wide range of activities which provide opportunities for socialising and stimulation.

Respite care
To enable carers to have a break or cope with unforeseen circumstances, we offer Respite Care. Respite Care also offers older people the opportunity to enjoy a holiday at Clashfarquhar on a regular basis or as a trial period before a permanent admission. We aim to continue the daily routine enjoyed at home as far as possible as well as making this an opportunity for a break.

Your Individual Care Plan
Whether you live at Clashfarquar or attend our day care services, you will be allocated a keyworker who will help you draw up your own Individual Care Plan. This involves discussing current needs and future aspirations, recognising choice, rights, fulfilment, independence, privacy and dignity. Your family can be involved in this if you wish.

Community involvement
The Friends of Clashfarquhar House are drawn from the local churches and participate in the life of the home. They visit regularly and offer support to both service users and staff. The Rotary Club, Community Nurses, Friends Group, Schools, Round Table and Church Guilds are all involved with the Service. Our chaplain is Rev Dr Fyfe Blair.
