Congratulations to Gaberston Staff Team!

Gaberston House in Alloa has been named ‘Specialist Care Home of the Year’ at the Scottish Care awards ceremony in Glasgow. 

Speaking after collecting the trophy, Gaberston’s service manager Maureen Cichanski said: “The staff team at Gaberston House exemplify the values of respect, care, and unconditional acceptance of the people who live there and for whom Gaberston has become home. All our staff work well as a supportive team and have a real commitment to involving Service Users which impacts positively on their lives. The team have always placed the resident’s wellbeing at the heart of service delivery, and we are very proud of our achievement in winning this award.”

 CrossReach’s other finalist was Kirsteen Tillman in the Carer of the Year category. Kirsteen, who has worked at Cameron House in Inverness since she left school 13 years ago, was delighted to make it to the shortlist: “I love working at Cameron House and feel honoured to have been nominated. The whole staff team are wonderful and make coming to work a pleasure.” Cameron House has provided specialist care for people with dementia since 1987.
