Counselling, Support and Training

CrossReach has provided counselling services since the early 1980’s.

What is counselling?

Sometimes we experience difficulties in coping with our day to day lives.  This may be due to current circumstances or to things from our past.  Often we resolve these issues ourselves or with the help of others.  Occasionally it is helpful to talk to someone who is trained, objective and offers confidentiality.

A Counsellor will not provide advice or solutions: instead they try to help and support the client find their own way through the difficulty.

What we provide:

Counselling is provided by staff and volunteers, all of whom are either qualified or working towards a counselling qualification.  All counsellors are in receipt of regular supervision.

Our services include:

  • One to One Counselling for Adults
  • Play Therapy
  • Group Work
  • Couple Work
  • Family Therapy
  • Infact Massage
  • Parent and Child Interaction
  • One to One Counselling for Children and Adolescents

(see information on individual services for more details)

CrossReach's counselling services are all either recognised counselling organisations of COSCA (Scotland's professional counselling body) or working towards this and therefore adhere to COSCA statement of Ethics and Code of Practice. www.cosca.org.uk

As a charity with no substantial funding we are dependent on regular client donations.  Whilst strongly encouraging client donations no one will be denied access to the service because of their inability to pay.
