CrossReach Awards Ceremony
CrossReach celebrated the achievements of its staff at a recent awards ceremony in Glasgow. In the past year 181 staff from care services across Scotland gained qualifications ranging from SVQs and HNCs to COSCA counselling and Post Graduate certificates in Autism.
Two special awards were also made - one in memory of CrossReach’s late Director, The Ian Manson Award for Excellence, which was won by Allan Logan, Head of Service for Older People, whilst the Adult Learner of the Year was Maisie Davidson who is a care worker at The Elms home in Edinburgh. In addition, 25 staff who have worked for CrossReach for either 20 or 30 years were presented with a commemorative framed certificate and engraved pen.
Chief Executive, Peter Bailey said: “In CrossReach we never under-estimate the willingness of staff to address their personal development needs and I am delighted that this year so many staff have gained qualifications which is not only excellent for them as individuals but a vital part of the quality services which we are able to provide.”
Guest speaker at the awards was Anna Fowlie, Chief Executive of the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC): “It was a pleasure to be involved in CrossReach's annual awards. The range of staff and qualifications being recognised was exemplary, demonstrating real commitment from the individuals and the organisation as an employer. CrossReach is an organisation with deep-seated values and that shone through. Service users are in safe, skilled hands and that is to be commended.”
