It's Learning Disability Week 2011
An excerpt from Annual Review 2010...
"CrossReach Learning Disabilities provide Community Support, Supported Living options, an Open Door Autism Service, Residential care, Short Breaks and an Epilepsy specialism.
The Bungalow in Aberdeenshire provides intensive residential support to those with physical and learning difficulties. Eskmills in East Lothian, Threshold Edinburgh, Threshold Glasgow and Threshold West of Scotland enable people to live independent lives. Sparkle Leisure was launched to provide supported holidays and activities for people with learning disabilities in the East of Scotland. This complements a similar needs-led service in the West, both for people with learning disabilities and their families. Alligan Day Service offers social opportunities and facilities for people to have fun, be educated or relax.
We have built on strong initiatives to involve the people we support and their input is an integral part of the strategic planning process and quality evaluation. We seek to address the aspirations and needs of service users in their social, physical, intellectual, cultural, emotional and spiritual well-being. We have campaigned for social inclusion of people with a learning disability in partnership with the wider Church and other organisations, and also participated in research into the spirituality of people who have no language capacity."
