Mental Health

CrossReach runs four innovative mental health services in Scotland; Movern in Kilmarnock and Tynepark in Haddington provide community-based services, whilst Gaberston in Alloa and Allarton in Glasgow provide a mixture of residential accomodation, supported flats and outreach support to individuals in their own homes, as well as some day support.

Underpinning the work of all our services, and central to our philosophy of work in mental health is an emphasis on Recovery.  A recovery-based approach promotes service user involvement and social inclusion, with particular attention on the lived experiences of people with mental health difficulties.

'Recovery' means different things to different people and no two individual's journeys of recovery will be the same. We have a belief in, and a commitment to, the principle that people can, and do, recover control in their lives, even if they continue to live with ongoing symptoms. Consequently, within our services there is a range of support offered to people with mental health issues, ensuring, where possible, that they have the tools to become active participants in their own healthcare and continuing recovery journey.

The Recovery approach takes account of service users' personal experiences. Click on the links to the individual mental health services to discover the exciting work that is going on across the country.
