St Cyrus Gala Day - by Ashleigh Venters
St Cyrus Gala Day.
On Saturday, Abi and I went for a girls day out with our carers Hazel and Wilma. As it was a nice sunny day we decided to go to the St Cyrus Gala.
St Cyrus is quite a little village, but it was really busy, so it took us a while to find somewhere to park the car. Then we had a bit of a walk to get to where all the fun was happening.
The first thing we did was go and surprise my Dad. He was in charge of the Mearns FM tent, and he didn’t know that we were coming. He was really happy to see us all though.
Then we went for a walk round all the stalls. While we were walking about we met lots of people to stop and talk to, including some of the other staff from The Bungalow.
There were loads of really nice things for sale – but I was good and didn’t spend too much. My favourite stall was the one run by the St Cyrus Church. They were selling helium balloons that you had to put your name on and let float away. Apparently there is a prize for the one that travels the furthest. The man on that stall was really nice and gave me and Abi both a balloon for free. I hope someone really far away finds mine and sends it back, it would be nice to know where it ended up.
After another quick stroll round the park it was time to head back to the car and home for tea. I didn’t mind though, it’s always nice to be out and about, but it’s just as nice to go back home again for a rest.
