This post is currently worked part time from home and part time in the office on a blended working basis and will be discussed in more detail at interview.

Salary is pro rata of 38.5 hours per week.

Main Function

To provide appropriate support to the Finance Manager and manage Accounts Payable Team. The role will involve assisting in design and lead on implementation of accounts payable system improvements in order to automate daily processes. The post holder will be required to work flexibly and accurately under time pressure to achieve organisational targets.

Main Duties

  1. To manage accounts payable accounting functions including maintenance and reconciliations of accounts payable ledgers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  2. To assist in design, and lead on implementation, of accounts payable system improvements in order to automate daily processes and save time.
  3. To develop, implement and maintain accounts payable procedures and policies and to ensure adherence to organisation guidelines.
  4. To manage Accounts Payable Team via work verification, relevant training sessions and ongoing support.
  5. To provide support and training to Services.
  6. To be responsible for day to day accounts payable tasks: processing invoices, payment runs, reconciling head office petty cash, journal entries, bank postings, reimbursing petty cash floats etc
  7. To assist in developing accounts payable KPIs; monitoring reports.
  8. To be responsible for no 1 and no 2 bank account reconciliations on a monthly basis.
  9. Liaise with suppliers and answer/resolve their queries.
  10. Assist to ensure the year end process is accomplished in time. 
  11. To undertake tasks or duties to support the Finance Manager as required.
  12. To stay abreast of current developments in the relevant areas including legislative changes to inform your practice.
  13. To demonstrate and share Christian love and support including sharing with others the leading of worship in accordance with CrossReach policy and by ensuring all staff meetings are opened with prayer and Bible reading.

Qualifications

Relevant accounting qualification – AAT, Higher Education (e.g. HNC, HND) or similar.

Skills and Abilities

Essential

Candidates will be expected to have:

  • Relevant experience as an Accounts Payable Manager/Team Leader or similar role
  • Knowledge of Advance Microsoft Office Excel, incl. Look ups and Pivot Tables
  • Good personal communications skills
  • Good customer relations approach
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines

Desirable

  • Significant experience of working in a team at a supervisory level
