You will work closely with the Business Development Advisor to support CrossReach to achieve agreed business targets and also identify opportunities for Business Development to optimise deliverable support to ensure business sustainability and growth.

We’re looking for an ability to gather and analyse information plus good Microsoft Office skills so that you can present your findings.   Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to establish good relationships so that you can build an understanding of the markets we operate in to identify the above opportunities.

What do you need?  You will have relevant qualification at a minimum SVQ3 Level or equivalent, preferably in business, health or social care.

Main Function

To support CrossReach to achieve business targets as agreed by CMT via Head of Service, working in locations across Scotland as required and working across directorates and to geographic boundaries.

To develop, through conducting research and by building a network of contacts, a detailed understanding of the social care market in Scotland in order to identify opportunities for CrossReach to optimise the support we deliver, ensuring business sustainability and growth

To ensure all business activity reflects current thinking in social care, including involvement of people who use our services, their families and any other stakeholders.

To support Business Development activity ensuring it is informed by innovation, compliance and/or adaption to market changes. 

Main Duties

Development

  1. To provide research on the social care sector as directed by Head of Service and Advisor, to enable CrossReach to actively engage with all stakeholders, including evidence required for the delivery and reconfiguration of services.
  2. To support Head of Service and Advisor in joint working partnership and consortium opportunities with other agencies relevant and integral to the work of CrossReach.
  3. To maintain accurate and real time CRM (Customer Relationship Management) database, with timely management reports.
  4. To work with Business Development Advisor, colleagues working in CrossReach services and people who use CrossReach services to develop Business Plans to improve and expand the support we offer.

 

New Business

  1. To undertake research into government policies, funding opportunities, other service providers and service models.
  2. To work with and support the Advisor providing guidance on all aspects of current business development projects and tools.
  3. To assess public sector contract opportunities published online and recommend potentially suitable opportunities to central and operational colleagues.
  4. To assist in providing support for the process of tendering, for public sector contracts, to ensure applications are professional and accurate and to disseminate tenders to colleagues in Service Areas.
  5. To assess joint working opportunities with other Councils of the Church of Scotland, Presbyteries and Inter-faith groups which are relevant and integral to the work of CrossReach, as required by Head of Service.

 

Engagement

  1. To implement CrossReach’s Engagement and Communication Strategies and assist services, when required,  to adherance of Brand Guidelines in the content of publications, social media and other communication platforms. Integrating with local and national initiatives.
  2. To communicate projects and work relevant to Business Development to frontline staff and managers (within the area of responsibility whilst retaining a working knowledge of CrossReach services throughout Scotland).
  3. To provide regular updates of work to Head of Service and Advisor.
  4. To provide data analysis and management reports for the geographical area of responsibility.
  5. To support the Advisor when guidance for colleagues is required e.g. Business Planning, Key Account Management, use of communication platforms such as social media and website, Public contracts submission.

 

General

  1. To demonstrate and share Christian love and support including sharing with others the leading of worship in accordance with CrossReach policy and by ensuring all staff meetings are opened with prayer and Bible reading.

Qualifications

Desirable:

  • Relevant Qualification at a minimum SVQ3 Level or equivalent, preferably in business, health or social care.

Skills and Abilities

Essential:

  • Experience of using information systems, data analysis Microsoft Office, CRM tools, project management tools.
  • Understanding of the markets CrossReach operates in, how this will inform our response to them and, where appropriate, grow our income and develop service provision.
  • Ability to gather information, critically analyse it and present findings in a persuasive manner.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to adapt when communicating with different audience/subject.
  • Proven ability to deliver on multiple tasks and projects using own initiative as well as achieving results through collaboration.
