Main Function

Playing a proactive role within the management team of Human Resources & Organisational Development, positively impact on the delivery of social care by designing, developing and driving the implementation of effective and efficient people practices that are in line with CrossReach Christian Ethos and Values.

Main Duties

  1. To develop an in depth knowledge of the organisation, attend regular meetings and keep abreast of current developments and problems.
  2. To manage and develop of the HR Operations team, ensuring the appropriate systems and processes are in place and relevant KPIs are being monitored and met.
  3. To provide Business Partner support in respect of central service staff.  This involves advice on managing attendance, performance and conduct as well as being involved in central restructures and re-gradings.
  4. To work in partnership with the HR Business Partners to determine ways of supporting and developing the HR Operations team to address and improve identified issues.
  5. To work in partnership with the People Development Manager to plan and facilitate the Succession Planning programme.
  6. To ensure robust safer recruitment procedures are in place and are rigorously followed.
  7. To ensure appropriate and accurate information is issued in a timely manner from the HR Operations team.   Flagging any areas of concern with the relevant HR Business Partner.
  8. To ensure systems and processes are in place to ensure compliance with external regulators such as Disclosure Scotland and Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
  9. To identify and lead innovative initiatives with external partners to bring new staff into CrossReach.
  10. To develop effective partnerships with key stakeholders managing relationships with external partners for the website and recruitment.
  11. To create and promote a customer service focused and flexible culture within the HR Operations team.
  12. To ensure customer service standards are monitored and met
  13. To specify requirements of the HR system and to liaise with the Business Partner, Quality, Compliance and improvement to ensure the system meets the needs of the HR Operations team.
  14. To be involved in business and planning meetings involving key stakeholders and support staff to ensure agreed outcomes and timescales are achieved.
  15. Bring forward strategic solutions to people related challenges with sound business plans.  Feeding into the Human Resource and Organisational Strategic Plan and ensuring HR Operations elements of that plan are successfully implemented in line with the agreed timescales.
  16. To work with Business Partners to ensure through workforce planning and forecasting that the future staffing needs are identified and met. Within this responsible for a range of activities from communicating to the relevant sections and facilitating the delivery to developing strategic solutions.
  17. To provide regular reports to the Director of Human Resources and Organisational Development including MI highlighting performance on the key HR policies and practices.
  18. To manage the budget for the HR Operations team and the organisational recruitment budget.
  19. To ensure the relevant HR audits are completed with the timeframe set out in the audit schedule.
  20. To keep abreast of changes in employment law and case law, ensuring that CrossReach meets all legislative requirements and to update HR practices and policies ensuring they are compliant.
  21. To ensure pragmatic and high quality advice is provided from the HR Operations section.
  22. To contribute to and support organisation change initiatives.
  23. To deliver HR projects as required.
  24. To identify learning from exit feedback and incorporate into retention strategy.
  25. To identify gaps or improvements which can be made in HR policy and guidance to support operational performance.
  26. Reflect Christion love from own Christian experience.
  27. To demonstrate and share Christian love and support including by leading of worship in accordance with CrossReach policy, and by ensuring all staff meetings are opened with prayer and Bible reading.

Qualifications

Degree or diploma or equivalent level qualification in a relevant area.

CIPD membership or be working towards CIPD membership is desirable

Experience in the social care sector is desirable
