Housekeeping Assistant - Part Time

Salary is pro rata of 38.5 hours per week.

Main Function

As a member of the staff team the Housekeeping Assistant’s role is to help ensure that the environment is made as pleasant as possible, through ensuring that all parts of the Education Campus are presentable and clean for our children and young people.

All those employed within the CrossReach Children & Family Services will, with a commitment to our Christian values, work as part of a holistic team to deliver a service that ensures that the needs of the children, young people and their families that we support, are fully met. You will be expected to work to the highest professional standards of those working within the Children’s workforce and adhere to professional codes of practice of SSSC, GTCS and other relevant professional bodies; ensuring that the aims and objectives of CrossReach and those specific to Children & Family Services and the section within which you are based are met

Main Duties

1. To ensure the level of cleanliness throughout the school campus complies with CrossReach standards.

2. To assist other staff members in all aspects of housekeeping, as directed by senior staff.

3. To work at times as directed by the catering manager and duty senior.

4. To attend and participate in staff meetings.

5. To participate in staff training.

6. To undertake appropriate Health & Safety training.

7. To participate in the evaluation of standards within the service.

8. To ensure that the housekeeping tasks are completed satisfactorily and in a manner which complies with CrossReach’s standards.

9. Be aware of issues in relation to control of substances hazardous to health (COSHH)

10. The post holder will be expected to undertake other relevant and reasonable duties as required by senior management.

This post requires you to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and undertake the necessary vetting checks.

Skills and Abilities

No direct experience is necessary although work in a previous Education or Care setting would be an advantage.

The postholder must possess basic computer literacy skills including use of Microsoft Office and the internet.
