This post is to be worked over 5 days per week.
Salary is pro rata of 38.5 hours per week.

Main Function
This post holder will have responsibility for providing a full range of generalist HR services to identified service areas. This will include a full operational support service, providing assistance with recruitment related issues as and when required, working with the lead HR Officer in this area.
The post holder will also provide support on Employee Relations issues including attendance management compliance and support to managers on individual cases. There will be a small case load which may be assigned from time to time on discipline and grievance issues and the post holder will signpost managers on how to take forward the process. Support will also be provided in advising on family friendly and other HR policies.
There will be a strong emphasis in this role on continuous development and monitoring of the HR system to ensure the maximum value can be achieved to support the service areas.
Main Duties
- To provide a full generalist HR service to an identified service area, supporting the HR Advisors in their roles in achieving a comprehensive HR service.
- To maintain statistical information in conjunction with the HR Advisors on an agreed schedule and to achieve the deadlines set.
- To give advice on CrossReach terms and conditions of employment and be involved of the development of revised conditions as necessary.
- To provide an efficient, timely and accurate delivery of the HR Services, complying with all legal (e.g. employment law, data protection, health and safety etc.) and Care Commission requirements are met in relation to all HR policy and practice.
- To give advice and guidance on statutory entitlements including sickness absence, maternity etc.
- To contribute to the ongoing development of the HR system and until such time as automation is fully integrated maintain current practices in relation to records and providing information to other sections.
- Ensure that data is accurate and up to date and provide management information as necessary.
- To assume a lead role for identified specialist projects within HR e.g. recruitment, ACNG, HR policy, and HR systems etc. as agreed with the HR Advisor.
- To identify and work with the HR Advisor, Employee Relations on long term absence and provide support to unit managers on ill health capability issues, including production and filing of relevant paperwork from meetings generated by the process.
- To identify and work with the HR Advisor, Employee Relations on disciplinary and grievance cases as assigned and provide first level support to unit managers, including production of relevant paperwork to the SSSC and to make timely referrals as directed.
- To support the HR Officer for Resourcing with all aspects of recruitment including the issuing of contracts and following safer recruitment guidelines.
- To take responsibility for reporting to SSSC errors in registration and practice issues as requested by the HR Advisor.
- To work collaboratively with other HR Officers to provide support and cover as required.
- To undertake tasks or duties to support the HR Advisors and Business Partners or as required.
- To stay abreast of current developments in the relevant areas including legislative changes to inform your practice.
- To demonstrate and share Christian love and support including sharing with others the leading of worship in accordance with CrossReach policy and by ensuring all staff meetings are opened with prayer and Bible reading.

Skills and Abilities
Essential
At least three years experience in an HR Generalist or Specialist role.
Desirable
HR related qualification. CIPD or equivalent or willingness to work towards.
