Are you an experienced IT Professional now looking to use your technical delivery skills to directly help vulnerable people and families across Scotland?
This is an exciting time for CrossReach as we implement our new digital strategy. We are looking for exceptional people who can lead and influence this new direction of travel.
You will be managing a small team of 4, using a hands-on approach to oversee the provision of a professional and business appropriate IT Service.
However, as a Social Care provider, some essential travel will be required. During the current pandemic, we are all working from home. Your work location will be discussed with you at interview. A car allowance comes with this role.

Main Function
- To ensure the provision of a professional and business appropriate Information Technology (IT) Service.
- To develop, support and implement current and new IT solutions across all business functions within CrossReach.
- To manage Information Technology systems as a ‘hands on’ role ensuring that maximum benefit is obtained from reliable, cost effective systems.
- To ensure the effective and efficient operation of the IT service providing support services focused on and aligned to meeting the needs of the business, customers and stake holders.
- To maintain the IT Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plan and ensure it is up-to-date and robust.
- Through Christian leadership ensure that the services provided reflect CrossReach’s Christian ethos, values and mission statement.
Main Duties
- To have line management responsibility for staff in the IT section.
- To work with Head of Service (IT) to develop/implement the IT Strategy for CrossReach.
- To develop IT related policies, processes and associated procedures so as to ensure speedy solutions to IT requirements.
- To ensure that the IT section follows CrossReach policies especially IT policies and processes when dealing with staff, customers and stakeholders.
- To manage, monitor, support and maintain the systems infrastructure throughout the CrossReach infrastructure.
- To oversee the development, implementation and maintenance of measures to protect the security of the CrossReach network.
- To manage all server hardware and software including installations and when necessary administer the deployment of updates on servers to ensure network security and function.
- To manage the network infrastructure and resources while working on estimating budget requirements for the following year.
- To review both hardware and software requirements and recommend to the Head of Service (IT) any upgrades/new technologies required.
- To ensure that systems installed meet approved standards and any legislation that is in place such as GDPR.
- To liaise and work collaboratively with staff, external and internal stakeholders as required.
- To undertake tasks or duties to support the Head of Service (IT) as required.
- To stay abreast of current developments in the relevant areas including legislative changes to inform your practice.
- To demonstrate and share Christian love and support including by leading of worship in accordance with CrossReach policy, and by ensuring all staff meetings are opened with prayer and Bible reading.
Qualifications
Essential
- Relevant IT qualification(s) at Degree level or equivalent
Desirable
- Microsoft professional accreditation or Certification
- An ITIL Qualification

Skills and Abilities
Essential
- At least 5 years’ experience as an IT Manager/Technical Lead (or equivalent)
- Excellent knowledge of technical management along with hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation.
- Experience with the following technologies:
- VMware
- Azure
- Various Microsoft operating systems and products
- M365 implementation
- Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
- Applicants should have a systematic, logical and effective approach to fault diagnosis and resolution
- Excellent communication skills
- A full driver’s license.
