Your main role will be to provide pro-active support to the CEO and Council members, taking responsibility for administration.
Working full time and based in Charis House (east side of Edinburgh, near Portobello) where we have on-site parking, CrossReach also offers a competitive benefits package.
This is a temporary role to September 2020.
Main Function
To provide full pro-active support to the CEO and Council members, taking responsibility for administration to meet tight deadlines, managing conflicting priorities and flexible to change at short notice.
Main Duties
- To assist the CEO in all aspects of business and committee administration for e.g. Social Care Council, Executive Committee, Corporate Management Team, Senior Management Team including:
- Preparing reports and ensuring reports meet the required governance standards
- To liaise with stakeholders to ensure that reports are submitted timeously and are appropriate in content
- Ensure that agendas and papers are sent out timeously
- Minute meetings accurately
- Prepare and circulate minutes
- Identify actions points for the CEO to address
- Screen telephone calls and manage enquiries.
- To be the main point of contact from Council members including communication/ correspondence and supporting with administration, diary management, hospitality requirements.
- To assist in the management of key events throughout the year including holding responsibility for managing the administration of the Council’s involvement in the annual General Assembly.
- To proactively support the CEO in the administration of organisational governance.
- To be responsible for the typing of correspondence, reports, statistical data etc.
- Responsibility for document management for the CEO/Council members, including filing.
- To organise the CEO’s diary, travel plans, meetings and visits including managing hospitality requirements.
- To take responsibility for the collation of mileage and expense returns for the CEO.
- Manage the email inbox of the CEO.
- To undertake any other reasonable tasks or duties as requested.
- To demonstrate and share Christian love and support including sharing with others the leading of worship in accordance with CrossReach policy and by ensuring all staff meetings are opened with prayer and Bible reading.
Qualifications
Formal qualifications are not as important as experience and computer and communication skills.

Skills and Abilities
Essential:
- Post holder must possess advanced computer literacy skills including use of Microsoft Office and the internet.
- Post holder must possess excellent communication skills, including spoken and written English and the ability to proof read documents and correspondence to a high standard.
- Post holder must have previous experience in a similar role supporting a Senior Executive.
