Are you committed to providing high quality care to older people by co-ordinating, leading and supporting a team? This peripatetic role involves providing management and development support to our Services across Scotland, as required.
Your primary function will be to manage the existing residential service and, if appropriate, the respite and day care service. You will also have management and supervisory responsibility for all staff within the Service, enabling them to work as a close-knit team. To succeed you’ll have an SVQ Level 4 or equivalent in Social Care. You'll also possess effective decision making skills and ideally experience of supervising other staff. Plus a valid full driving licence.

Main Function
To manage any service within Services to Older People on a peripatetic basis as required.
Support specific Services for a temporary period where a need is identified.
Main Duties
- Support the induction and development of new managers both on site and remotely.
- Support services to achieve quality improvement plans as required.
- Support the development of outcome based recording systems and processes in accordance with the strategic plan for service to older people.
- Develop, coordinate and facilitate the delivery of an effective programme of support and training courses for staff to ensure that care plans are well written maintained and effective.
- To audit quality of care plan recording and systems within services implementing support to remediate issues of development.
- Be involved in implementation of evidenced based tools including a specific focus on health and wider community development issues.
- Be involved in new service developments, reconfigurations and initiatives in services to older people
- Through christian leadership, ensure that all implementation and development activity around outcome based care planning reflects crossreach christian ethos and mission statement.
- To demonstrate and share christian love and support including sharing with others the leading of worship in accordance with crossreach policy and by ensuring all staff meetings are opened with prayer and bible reading.
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
- You will be supervised by a member of the Senior Management Team within services to older people.
- Keep abreast of current research issues and developments relevant to the service through reading and attendance at conferences/training courses.
- You will work in accordance with SSSC codes of practice
- To maintain or achieve registration with SSSC or other relevant professional body. To maintain the CPD requirements of your professional body including holding an active PVG.
Qualifications
Essential:
An SVQ Level 4 in Social Care or equivalent social work or nursing qualification.
Personal
Ability to support services across Scotland at short notice involving staying in the locality and providing management of the Service for an agreed period of time.
