The role of Support Assistant within our service will give you the opportunity to use current and develop new skills within social care. Our support is provided with a person centred approach and your skills will be incorporated in providing a service that will help them to develop and work towards outcomes that are relevant and achievable.

Salary is pro rata of 38.5 hours per week.
Main Function
To provide flexible support to clients living in the community.
Main Duties
Summary of Post
- To provide advice, support and assistance to vulnerable adults to enable them to maintain their accommodation.
- To help create a safe, secure and supportive environment where individuals can express themselves and live a lifestyle of their choosing.
Service Delivery
Involvement in the general day to day support of the clients as determined by the Managing Co-Ordinator and Senior Support Worker.
Work on a rota basis involving 24 hour cover.
Welcome families and visitors of clients and encourage mutual contact with the client.
Accompanying individual clients to activities of their choice.
Encouraging clients to undertake tasks such as making their own beds, keeping bedrooms tidy etc.
Encouraging clients to participate in community life and fulfil normal activities.
To undertake other duties as may reasonably fall within the parameters of the post as delegated by the Managing Co-Ordinator or Senior Support Worker.
Have respect for all aspects of Christian worship.
Facilitate service users to attend Christian worship (or worship of choice).

This post requires you to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and undertake the necessary vetting checks.
This post requires you to be registered with SSSC and it is your professional responsibility to ensure that you meet the standards & criteria for registration.
Skills and Abilities
No direct experience is necessary although experience of supporting people in their own homes is preferred.
The postholder must possess basic computer literacy skills including use of Microsoft Office and the internet for completing mandatory e-learning courses.
