As team leader you will support the Service Leader with efficient service delivery and will be the lead manager within the service with responsibility for day to day management. Ideally you will have experience working with children and children with a disability. You will be required to be registered with Scottish Social Services Council [SSSC] with a recognised Social Work/Nursing Qualification SVQ Level 4.

Main Function
The Team Leader will operate as the senior member of staff within the Unit responsible for day to day management. He/she will carry responsibility for the overall care of residents and the efficient management of his/her own working team. In addition, he/she will be required to contribute to achieving the highest professional standards of social care practice and for ensuring that quality standards are met.
Main Duties
- Promote equality for all individuals.
- Contribute to the protection of individuals from abuse.
- Contribute to the management of aggressive and abusive behaviour.
- Promote communication with clients where there are communication difficulties.
- Support clients when they are distressed.
- Enable clients to make use of available services and information.
- Contribute to the health, safety and security of individuals and their environment.
- Promote the wellbeing of all clients in a sensitive caring manner affording them dignity and respect.
- To assist the Service Leader in the formulation of a yearly plan and work as a member of the management team to ensure that priorities outlined therein are met.
- To assist the Service Leader in all aspects of Quality Assurance and to be responsible for the quality of care experienced by the users and the way in which staff within his/her team aim to provide quality care.
- To assist the Service Leader as required in the preparation, management and monitoring of the annual operating budget.
- To ensure that client’s records are maintained in line with CrossReach’s policy.
- To contribute to the maintenance of systems to gather, record and store information/data.
- To demonstrate and share Christian love and support including sharing with others the leading of worship in accordance with CrossReach policy and by ensuring all staff meetings are opened with prayer and Bible reading.
PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT
To assist in the recruitment and selection of staff as required.
To conduct regular supervision with all staff.
To ensure that CrossReach’s HR policies are implemented and understood by all staff within the team and participate in the disciplining of staff when appropriate.
To undertake or facilitate the assessment of staff for SVQs and/or the supervision of students through practice teaching.
To be responsible for the planning and allocation of work carried out by staff.
To assist in unit based induction training, ongoing training within the unit and be accountable to the unit manager for the training and development of team members.
To convene regular team meetings.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
To keep abreast of current developments in the social care field in order to ensure that the highest standards of care are achieved.
To attend meetings, training courses and seminars as required.
LIAISON
To assist the Service Leader in the promotion of services and to maintain close working relationships, as required, with all relevant professionals involved in the care of residents or clients, maintaining effective communication and co-operation with relatives and friends of residents or clients.
GENERAL MANAGEMENT
To undertake responsibilities in relation to health and safety as delegated by the Service Leader.
To be responsible for a particular specialist area of work as directed by the Service Leader.
To undertake other duties as may responsibility fall within the parameters of the post as delegated by the Service Leader.
Qualifications
A recognised Social Work/Nursing Qualification/SVQ Level 4 is essential.
