Information
Our Counselling & Recovery team provide support to those over the age of 16 who are affected by their own or someone else’s past/present drug use. This may be looking into ways clients’ lives are affected by drugs, or it could be exploring past experiences which led to drug use. We offer up to 20 sessions of counselling. The sessions are weekly, and these can be either face-to face, by phone or online. Each session lasts for 50 minutes and there is no charge for the counselling.
Individual Counselling provides a space for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings on issues relating to their own or someone else’s drug use. Counsellors will work with clients on issues such as: Depression, Self-worth, Bereavement/Loss, Relationships, Anxiety, Anger, Addiction, Stress, Low self-confidence & self-esteem, Abuse (emotional, sexual, physical). Counsellors will be working within a trauma framework, considering trauma symptoms, and learning skills to cope with these.
Being a Volunteer Counsellor with us will give you the chance to work with a small, friendly team and will enable you to use your skills in a supportive environment.
