There's a list of volunteer opportunities below and each post could be to volunteer with any of our services across Scotland!

Volunteering with us gives you the chance to work as part of a friendly team and will enable you to use and develop your skills in a supportive environment. At CrossReach we are committed to creating a positive culture of volunteering.

Main Function

We're looking for a volunteer to join our team who is willing to help us in our day to day provision of care, including helping in the kitchen, or sitting with someone during mealtimes.

• Welcoming and friendly personality
• Commitment and ability to work as part of a team
• An interest in helping vulnerable people in your local area
• Able to follow codes of confidentiality and conduct (including Health and Safety)

The hours available are completely flexible. We’ll work around you and what spare time you have.

We will give you some training and a general induction linked with a member of staff, who will support you to volunteer.  Reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed.

Main Duties

The areas where you can help most include providing our catering staff with extra help doing basic tasks in the kitchen, helping tidy up after mealtime, and simply being there if someone needs extra support.

• Fill in an application form
• Come and meet us for an informal chat
• At this visit, both or either party will decide whether to proceed with the application
• The application process involves 2 references (not necessarily from an employer), completion of a self-declaration form and PVG certificate. These must be approved before you start.

 

Just as we work with clients of all faiths or none, we welcome service volunteers from all walks of life. We do ask that our service volunteers are in sympathy with our Christian ethos and values, but they are not required to share our faith.
