We are looking for volunteers to work alongside our Administration team and help to provide reception cover and admin support. You will play an important role in welcoming our clients and creating a safe, friendly atmosphere at reception. Our client’s first point of contact is by telephone. Volunteers will be trained and supported to take calls that may involve vulnerable clients.

Main Function

We're looking for a volunteer to join our team to provide administrative and reception support.

  • Welcoming and friendly personality
  • Office and administrative experience
  • Commitment and ability to work as part of a team
  • An interest in helping vulnerable people in your local area
  • Able to follow codes of confidentiality and conduct (including Health and Safety)
  • Good computer literacy skills including use of Microsoft Office. Desirable, not required. 

The hours available are completely flexible. We’ll work around you and what spare time you have. 

We will give you some training and a general induction linked with a member of staff, who will support you to volunteer.  Reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed. 

Main Duties

The areas where you can help the most include welcoming visitors, making/answering phone calls, helping on reception, filing, photocopying, helping to keep the office clean and tidy, and other administrative duties.

  • At this visit, both or either party will decide whether to proceed with the application
  • The application process involves 2 references (not necessarily from an employer), completion of a self-declaration form and Basic Disclosure. These must be approved before you start.

Just as we work with clients of all faiths or none, we welcome service volunteers from all walks of life. We do ask that our service volunteers are in sympathy with our Christian ethos and values, but they are not required to share our faith.
