CrossReach Sunflower Garden

Adult and child high 5

Our dedicated team of Counsellors, Art Therapists and Children’s workers offer support to children and young people aged 5-18 across the city of Edinburgh who are impacted by drug or alcohol use in their families. With experience of supporting children and young people at all stages of a family’s recovery, contact us today to see how we can help.

It helped me with my feelings at school and I am not as nervous anymore

We offer support from our central Edinburgh base, as well as in schools across the city. Children and young people can access counselling, Art Therapy, Groupwork and Support work. Once a referral is made, we will contact you to work out where and when it would be best for support to take place and what support would be most helpful. If we are supporting a child or young person, we can support their parent/carer too via our parent’s counselling service or through our CrossReach Adult Counselling and Recovery Service

It has given my children a voice and confidence to talk about their feelings and how to handle them. They don’t feel like they have to deal with issues by themselves anymore. Parent

To access this service a child or young person must be:

  • 5-18 years old
  • Living in the City of Edinburgh
  • Affected by a parent’s drug or alcohol use (past or present)

The service is free to access thanks to our funding from CORRA Drugs Mission (Home - Corra Foundation), the City of Edinburgh Council and the Edinburgh Alcohol and Drugs Partnership (Edinburgh Alcohol and Drugs Partnership – Supporting Drug and Alcohol recovery in Edinburgh). CrossReach Counselling rely on donations from our clients and supporters to deliver counselling across Scotland. If you would like to help us ensure that we can continue to deliver compassionate, professional care to those that need it the most then you are able to donate here or when you attend the service.
