A Lent Journey With CrossReach
Lent is a season that invites us to slow down, reflect and refocus our hearts on what truly matters. As we walk towards Easter, we are reminded of the compassion of Christ, a love that noticed people, listened deeply and responded with practical care.
40 Days of Compassion is a Lent resource created especially for churches and congregations who want to share that love in meaningful, everyday ways.
Throughout the season, your church is invited to take a simple weekly step:
to pray, to act, and to give. Each week includes a short Bible reading, reflection, prayer and a practical compassion action suitable for worship, small groups or personal devotion. There are also ideas for children and young people, community activities and easy fundraising suggestions that can involve the whole congregation.
Across Scotland, CrossReach supports children, families and older people facing challenging circumstances. By taking part in this Lent journey, your church helps ensure that care, reassurance and hope continue to reach those who need it most.
You can follow the full six-week journey together, focus on a single week, or simply include the prayers in worship - the resource is designed to be flexible and easy to use in any church setting.
We invite you to join congregations across the country in making compassion visible this Lent.
