Children and Families' food parcel distribution has begun

Packages of food with man

When we say we are thankful for the help given by individuals, community groups and companies it hardly starts to express how grateful we are for the kindnesses being shown; kindnesses that help us continue to support the people in our services during this season of COVID-19.

Thanks to generous donations from  the Peter Vardy Foundation and from the Glasgow City Council’s Holiday Food Programme, today has seen the start of our 12 week distribution programme of large food parcels to pupils at home and to some of the families we work with in Glasgow.

James, the cook at our Erskine Waterfront Campus, and his assistant Irene skilfully prepare all the packages for collection by staff and volunteers  from Pete Vardy.

Holding to the social distancing rules, a team of volunteers and staff from CrossReach and Peter Vardy worked with Sheila Gordon, director of Children and Families in CrossReach, and it is Sheila's hope that this will be something that we can continue to offer throughout the duration of the lockdown period.

Support comes in many different ways and if you feel you can help in any way, please contact us.  Enquiry details are below.

Thank you
