CrossReach Take Action To End Mental Health Stigma

Research from See Me, the national programme to end mental health stigma and discrimination, found that one in four Scots (24%) don’t feel comfortable talking about mental health at work and one in five (20%) have said they’ve needed time off for their mental health but didn’t take it.

At CrossReach, we don’t want our staff to feel like this, so we’ve signed up to the See Me in Work programme, to improve the mental health and wellbeing of all our staff.

The See Me in Work programme is a four step improvement plan to help workplaces to make improvements to their culture, practice and policies, to directly tackle mental health stigma and discrimination.

Viv Dickenson CEO CrossReach said:

Our staff are the beating heart of CrossReach and it is important we ensure that their mental health and wellbeing is taken care of. The See Me in Work programme offers a good opportunity for us to do this and ensure that everyone of our staff is able to achieve everything they want to in work.

Wendy Halliday, See Me director, said:

While many organisations understand the impact of mental health in the workplace, it can be challenging to create a mentally healthy working environment. However there is a strong business case for getting it right on mental health in work, and it’s fantastic to see employers like CrossReach sign up to the See Me in Work programme and become leaders in creating change.
