Drug Related Deaths in Scotland

1133 Drug Related Deaths in Scotland in 2025, an increase of 11% from 2024

We are always saddened when these figures are released, when they confirm what we suspect the situation to be.
Knowing the people that this affects and knowing those who are still at risk hits hard and makes us redouble our commitment to work with partners, families and individuals to offer support, hope and encouragement.
We know that getting quick access to services, including the safety and opportunity of residential rehab, can save lives.
We are further increasing our capacity and helping improve pathways to services, as well as equipping those with 'lived experience' who have made positive changes to become leaders who inspire others to come for help.
Behind every number is a person who mattered, a family and community carrying loss. We will not lose sight of that, and we will keep working so that no one feels beyond hope, and everyone knows that help is within reach.
