Easter, Kiltwalks and Spring fun enjoyed at CrossReach in April
2 May 2025
April has been a busy month for CrossReach and many of our services from Kiltwalk achievements, exciting school trips, to Easter celebrations.
Below are just some of the activities that have been taking place within the CrossReach family in April.
We were delighted to have 30 registered participants in the Kiltwalk help raise money for CrossReach. Runners braved the long distance run to help support our services. Special mention to Anne from Bluebell who was the first female to cross the finish line - what an incredible achievement!
April was also a month for celebration for many of our volunteers as we held our annual Recovery Volunteer Graduation. The ceremony celebrates those who have come through our recovery services and are now offering volunteering support to current service users. This year’s event saw several volunteers receive their certificates and share their inspiring stories. More to come on this soon...
Some of those we support were also able to enjoy football matches. Through partnership with the Scottish Women's Premier League, we were able to offer match tickets to our Children and Families services for a game. It was a great day out for all involved!
We had a wonderful time hosting our first Meet Your Neighbours networking event at the Hilton Doubletree in Strathclyde. It was a great opportunity to connect with some businesses in the area and meet some new people. A massive thank you to everyone who supported and partnered with us.
Many of our services were getting in the Easter spirit last month, none more so than The Elms who shared some fantastic pictures of their spring festivities.
Residents at Balmedie House also put their creative hats on this Easter as they crafted their own Easter cards, hats and eggs.
Disney was the theme in April as residents from Cumnor Hall visited theatre company Centre Stage for some Disney related fun activities.
Over at Erskine Waterfront Campus, Class 5 and 6 visited Saur, the water treatment plant in Dalmuir.
Pupils learned lots of new things about how waste is treated and were shown how waste is processed in the area. One pupil commented that it was something they’d be interested in doing as a future career.
Autumn, nature and numeracy on the farm are just a few of the themes that have been part of activities at Daisy Chain Early Years Project over the last few weeks. Digging for dinosaurs was a great activity with a few budding archaeologists in the making! The service also launched an additional Little Marvels play class every Wednesday after school launched on April 23rd.
