Homelessness in Scotland is everyone's responsibility

"The need for preventing [homelessness] happening in the first place is so important"
-- Rt Hon Lord Wallace, Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland

Working with partners and people with Lived Experience makes it possible to improve responses to the issues leading to homelessness in a way that no organisation could do on its own.  CrossReach is therefore privileged to be part of the Glasgow Alliance to End Homelessness (GAEH) and in that capacity, to address the causes of homelessness in the city.

We welcome this opportunity to make a difference and are already seeing the benefits of working in partnership as we seek to improve the way people are supported:

  • Helping people to permanent accommodation
  • Looking to reduce time spent in temporary accommodation
  • Seeking to reduce the numbers of people becoming homelessness, through a range of measures and in line with the Scottish Government and the Prevention Review Group's proposals

Today [8th February 2022] alongside representatives of the GAEH, we appreciated the lunchtime invitation from Lord and Lady Wallace to share with them the work being done to help achieve these outcomes.
