Lord High Commissioner visits Daisy Chain Early Years Project
20 May 2026
It was our pleasure to welcome Lady Elish Angiolini, the Lord High Commissioner and the King’s representative to the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, to our Daisy Chain Early Years Project in Glasgow this weekend.
Families who regularly attend the service joined us to welcome the party. We had a valuable discussion about the importance of building trust and communication in our communities, and about creating supportive environments where children can thrive and families can grow stronger together.
We also took time to reflect on the many partnerships that make this work possible, including the Church of Scotland Guild whose generous support helps to sustain the project, and our friends at Glasgow Elim Church.
Established in 2011 within Glasgow's Govanhill area, the Daisy Chain Early Years Project is a crucial community-based early intervention initiative. It supports children under 12 and their families, tackling challenges such as poverty, poor housing, and social isolation. Our strength lies in our incredibly diverse community, speaking over 56 languages, fostering a truly inclusive and supportive environment.
The core mission is to cultivate a supportive environment where children can flourish, and families can build strength together. We achieve this through a holistic approach centered on play, nurture, and empowerment.
