Lots of fun activities enjoyed at CrossReach in March
28 March 2025
At CrossReach our service users and residents get up to lots of fun activities. March has been a busy month for many of those in the CrossReach family.
From visits from friendly animals to Heart for Art classes and MP visits, there has been plenty going on across our services this month.
Below are just some of the things those connected with CrossReach have been up to this month
At Cumnor Hall care home in Ayr, residents showed their creativity and talent with a Heart for Art session! It’s so lovely to see each drawing come to life with colours and the unique strokes of each brush.
The service was also paid a visit by Cycling Without Age who took several residents out for a ride on a trishaw bike.
Cameron House in Inverness had the pleasure of welcoming local MP, Mr. Angus MacDonald, for a visit.
It was a fantastic opportunity for the residents to meet their MP and for the home to showcase the work it does in providing care and support for older people living with dementia.
Mr MacDonald said that it was “a fantastic visit”.
Residents at Balmedie House were paid a visit by therapet Sydney. Sydney is no stranger to Balmedie and residents enjoyed having her visit and bring a smile to everyone’s face.
It was also a special month for resident Betty who welcomed her great-grandson Ellis. Ellis visited her at Balmedie and brought much joy and smiles to the service.
Residents got up to various activities throughout the month including taking a trip down memory lane, solving math problems like they were back in school! They amazed with their sharp minds, answering almost every question correctly.
At Threshold Glasgow, customers and staff celebrated World Down Syndrome Day on March 21st in style by wearing their brightest coloured socks and raising money for Red Nose Day.
Other activities enjoyed by customers this month include Easter arts and crafts and cooking classes.
Residents at The Elms in Edinburgh were paid a visit by Sense of Nature who brought along some animals for a visit. Animals visiting the service included owls, a tortoise, guinea pig and a mouse.
Our Fundraising Engagement Team launched our Spring Fling campaign encouraging people to get involved in running a Spring Fling event to raise funds for CrossReach. We are delighted to see some services and those connected with them taking part already.
At our Recruitment Services staff attended recruitment events in Inverness and Glasgow to share job opportunities within CrossReach.
It was lovely to see so many people come and speak to us about what it is like to work at CrossReach.
