Moderator visits Charis House

At Charis House in Edinburgh our central office gathers for a time of devotion at the beginning of each week. Today we were delighted to be joined by the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, Rt Rev Dr Shaw Paterson. Reflecting on Psalm 121 and Mark 1, the Moderator reminded those present about the importance and the value in taking time and care for personal well-being in order to be best equipped to serve others.
A time of discussion followed where staff shared with him news of the work they and their teams are currently involved in, before a short tour of the building allowed a chance to hear from more people about the ongoing projects and priorities.
Concluding his visit the Moderator commented that:
It has been wonderful to meet with so many enthused and engaged individuals working in Christ’s name to support the work of CrossReach. I have been amazed at the variety of gifts and skills, so evident in everyone I met, and have been encouraged by the passion and dedication I have seen amongst those who choose to serve in this way.
