Push up for CrossReach!

We want everyone to come out of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) period stronger, with a bigger sense of community spirit!

Scotland, the UK and the world is battling against the spread of COVID-19. Millions of people are facing isolation:  not seeing loved ones, family, colleagues and friends on a daily basis.  It is our hope this will be only for a short period of time.

However, social isolation and loneliness is a daily reality for many groups of vulnerable people of all ages living throughout Scotland, impacting on their mental health and well-being.

All of these people need our support now more than ever: whether they are a child socially isolated due to parental drug or alcohol use, an adult socially isolated because of a mental health issue like depression, stress or anxiety, or an older adult living with dementia, who because  of COVID-19 can no longer see their loved ones and friends, but doesn’t know why. We need to be there for them and that’s why we are asking you to take part in the Push up for CrossReach fundraiser #YouAreNotAlone

What is ‘Push up for CrossReach’?

It is a push up challenge that increases daily, starting at day 1 with the number of push ups you are comfortable with and increasing this number each day by 1 from Monday to Thursday and by 2 on Friday, before having the weekend off  (see table below).  The challenge lasts for 4 weeks.

Push up for CrossReach plan

We want you to record each day of  your push up challenge and share them on Social media saying ‘Day 1 of Push up for CrossReach, we are in this together, #YouAreNotAlone’

We want to make this challenge as accessible to everyone as possible so if a push up doesn’t suit please feel free to adapt to something that does.

By posting on social media, family and friends will see that you are safe and well. You can do this challenge virtually with friends or colleagues to make it more fun, so tag them in your social media posts and encourage them to join you in this fundraiser.
