Senior staff celebrated at General Assembly

Group of people

In our General Assembly report, our Convener spoke about the “journey” we are all part of. Along that journey, there are times to celebrate new beginnings as people join us, and also moments for letting go as colleagues retire after many years of service.

Earlier this week we had the privilege of marking both occasions as we celebrated with staff who have joined CrossReach in senior roles over the past year, alongside colleagues who have retired during the same period. Following afternoon tea in Edinburgh, the group took part in a presentation to the Moderator during the closing proceedings of the General Assembly, where he offered his heartfelt thanks and best wishes.

We also shared a very special moment in the hall as a standing ovation recognised the service of our wonderful CEO, Viv Dickenson, ahead of her retirement later this year. The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, Rt Rev Gordon Kennedy, reflected on highlights from Viv’s 30 years of service, including her unwavering advocacy for positive change and improvement across the social care sector.

Thank you to all our friends, families and colleagues who joined us today and all those who have journeyed with us in the past, and walk with us as we travel on.
