Working together to deliver essential items across East Ayrshire

Staff member stands behind food parcels ready to be delivered

Since the outbreak of COVID-19, staff at our Morven Day Services, Kilmarnock have continuously ensured that those who use the service are receiving dedicated and personalised support for their individual needs.

In line with social distancing requirements, the service has temporarily suspended face to face support but, despite this, the team has been taking Morven to the community, through phone calls and the delivery of essential supplies.

‘As many of our service users live in rural areas across East Ayrshire and have no immediate means of transport, our team have been delivering essential supplies to those who need it most. These packs have included; toilet rolls, soap, packet and tinned soups as well as fresh fruit and vegetables.’ (Liz Twigg – Project Manager)

Morven Day Services has partnered with other local organisations such as East Ayrshire Vibrant communities and local fruit and veg supplier, DM fruit whose collaboration has made it possible for deliveries of non-perishable and fresh food to those in need.

In the coming weeks the service hopes to make more deliveries and to continue providing essential support across their community. They will continue to encourage and enable individuals to create support networks out with the building, utilising the different resources available to them.

Morven Day Services is a mental health day resource for individuals with mental health difficulties across East Ayrshirehere. You can find out more  about the service here.
