Services offered at Cameron House

  • Specialist dementia care homes

Accommodation you can feel at home in
Inside the house we have 30 single bedrooms, all with en-suite toilet and washing facilities. Residents are encouraged to bring their own furniture and possessions to help create a home that feels familiar and reassuring.

There are ample communal areas including lounges, dining room and various quiet areas.

Your Individual Care Plan
Once a resident has secured a place at Cameron House, we’ll work with all involved parties to put together an Individual Care Plan. This ensures that we continue to deliver the right balance of care, activity and social interaction. All residents have a named Key Worker who has overall responsibility for the delivery and quality of care.

Family involvement
As a family member, you are encouraged to remain involved in the care of your loved one at Cameron House. You can do this by visiting on a regular basis and you may wish to accompany residents on social outings or hospital appointments. You may also wish to remain involved with aspects of their personal care, for example helping them to bathe and dress.

Family members can also provide vital links to residents’ backgrounds and history, and help in compiling a life history book for the person with dementia.

Community involvement
At Cameron House we are fortunate to have the continued support of local community members, as well as a dedicated Friends Group and regular volunteers. Teachers and pupils from the nearby Gaelic school visit Cameron House once a week, spending time chatting and singing in Gaelic (for some this is their native tongue). Fifth and sixth year pupils from Inverness Royal Academy come along to read short stories and poetry to residents in one of our quiet lounges.
