The Mallard is a safe, purpose-built space where your child’s needs, preferences, and happiness come first.
Located in the heart of Springburn, Glasgow, we provide respite short breaks for children and young people (aged 5-21) with additional or complex needs. Our warm, family-focused approach means every stay is carefully planned to be enjoyable, comfortable, and tailored to each child.

Services offered at Mallard Short Breaks
- Residential short breaks
Our short breaks give children and young people the chance to:
- Relax in a safe, nurturing environment
- Try new activities and experiences
- Build independence, confidence and social skills
Each child has a dedicated key worker who will plan activities around their likes, interests, and goals.
During Their Stay, Children Can Enjoy:
- Sensory room – calming and engaging sensory play
- Hydrotherapy spa pool – gentle relaxation and therapy
- Art and craft room – creative, hands-on fun
- Large enclosed garden – space for outdoor play and exploration
- Giant ball pit – sensory movement and laughter
- Home-cooked meals – fresh, tasty, and tailored to dietary needs
Our Team
Our team consists of highly qualified and trained staff, committed to delivering safe and effective care. Staff have completed a wide range of specialist training courses, including PEG feeding, moving and handling, epilepsy awareness, medication administration, autism awareness, safeguarding and behaviour support. In addition, our staff regularly update their skills through ongoing professional development to ensure they provide the highest standard of support.

Fees and Funding
Our fees are competitive within the sector, and in some cases, services may be free. We can guide you through any available funding options.
Day and Community Based Support
