Services offered at Oversteps

  • Care homes for older age
  • Respite care

We aim to create a happy and homely environment. As a resident, you are encouraged to live as independently as possible, with support provided as and when you need it. We will consult you routinely about matters of care.

Accommodation you can feel at home in
We have 24 single rooms, all of which are ensuite. Rooms on the first floor can be accessed by stairs or a lift.

Your bedroom is your personal and private area and is respected as such. You are welcome to bring anything from your home that you would like to keep, such as small items of furniture, curtains, bedding, photographs and ornaments. You may like to decorate your room at your own cost if you wish.

There are sockets in every room for a radio or television, and you can arrange for a telephone to be connected if you wish.

We have a TV lounge, dining area and large sitting room with views of the garden and surrounding woodland. You can use any of the lounges to sit in whenever you like, whether to enjoy the views or to socialise with fellow residents.

Family involvement
We recognise the immense importance that family and friends can play in your happiness. They are encouraged to visit and get involved in your care, should you wish.

Community involvement
Oversteps is very much a part of the local community. We have strong links with our local churches, who visit us regularly and hold services here. We also attend services in the community.

We also have links with both our local schools, Dornoch Primary and Dornoch Academy. Pupils from the primary school visit regularly.

We attend local events and host activities that support the local community here at the home.

Respite Care
Oversteps can offer short-term placements for respite care when there is a room available.

Other Services
