A number of months ago we set out on a journey with a big aspiration. To form a strategic plan that would guide our decision making, generate shared ownership and accountability – and provide clarity. This would allow us to steer our own course through the many challenges and opportunities we see daily within the social care sector.
We took time to ask ourselves big questions, re-evaluate our core assumptions, challenge ourselves on established thinking, and most importantly we took time to try and silence the noise around us and listen. Listen to the voices of those we support, the loved ones who entrust their people within our care, our board of trustees, the Church and you – our staff and volunteers from across our many teams in CrossReach. Whether you filled out one of the online surveys, were part of a working group, or took part in one of our engagement team meetings your support and input was very much appreciated.
As we draw this year to a close, we look forward to another year beginning. That is much the same as our journey. The end of this walk, doesn’t really mean the end – it means the beginning, A chance to move forward with refreshment and renewed enthusiasm. Thank you as always for your hard work and ongoing commitment to support our collective efforts to make a difference in the lives of so many people across Scotland
Tonight, we will launch this strategy to the public at a reception ahead of our Carol Concert. Ahead of that, I am delighted to present a first look at ‘Love from CrossReach’ – our 5 year strategic plan. I hope you enjoy it and can see your input and efforts reflected within the pages.

Strategy Overview
Caring for people in their communities has been at the heart of The Church of Scotland for over 150 years.
Today, CrossReach plays its part in continuing that tradition by offering care and support to around 28,000 people annually. As one of the largest and most diverse not-for-profit providers of social care in Scotland we are deeply rooted in communities, empowering people of all ages to live life to the full. The services delivered by our specialist teams fill a vital role between the private and the statutory sector, offering a person-centred approach. Older People According to the World Health Organisation (WHO 2020) there are more than 50 million people worldwide living with dementia and this is expected to increase to 150 million by 2050. With a proven track record over many decades, CrossReach have developed a wide ranging portfolio of services which older people across Scotland can access. Our Resources will help and support operational teams to achieve their strategic goals by providing, Financial, IT, Communications, and Estates back-up. We will do this on the basis of value for money stewardship, providing maximum support to CrossReach services, at a minimum cost to the services. Read more…
