Ready, Set, Bake! Oversteps Chef reaches final for shortbread contest

It is an exciting time for residents and staff at Oversteps care home in Dornoch. This year one of their own, David MacDonald who works in the home as a chef, has reached the grand final of the Highland Shortbread Showdown. He was put forward for the contest by Visit Dornoch and will represent them in the final on the 17th March 2024. 

In preparation for the grand finale, the home hosted an afternoon tea and shortbread tasting session for 23 residents and staff, where they decided which four flavours of shortbread David would make at the final. 

Prior to joining Oversteps, David had worked in the hospitality industry for many years acquiring his experience in restaurants and hotels in the Highlands and Islands. He moved to Oversteps, where his wife Jen is the service manager, last September.
