Eskmills Project

The Eskmills Project provides supported accommodation to 18 service users in community based housing in Musselburgh and Portobello.  The service employs a dedicated team of 33 support staff and also includes an Art Workshop which is led by a professional artist.

The Eskmills Project grew out of the service at Wedderburn which provided interim support to former service users at Algrade, Humbie. This helped to make the successful transition to supported living at Eskmills in January 1998.

Over the past 10 years the staff team have worked hard to provide a person centred approach, promoting the values of individual rights, self worth and mutual respect to enable service users to achieve their true potential

On the 17th of January 2008 Eskmills was awarded the prestigious Charter Mark Standard for Customer Service Excellence. This was a very important award for Eskmills and CrossReach as it reinforced our commitment to providing the best quality of support for our service users.

As part of our strategy to empower service users and offer more personalised services, Eskmills will make the transition to re-register as a Housing Support/ Care at Home Service. We hope work will be completed by the end of 2011

In May 2010 The Eskmills service expanded and created the Sparkle Leisure service to provide supported holidays and shortbreaks for people living in central and south east Scotland. Check out the Sparkle website for more information. Please contact the Service Manager if you would like help in reading and understanding this information.
