Include Me In - Work

Last Monday Geilsland School held on open forum entitled: ‘Include Me in - Work.’  A range of groups, organisations, colleges and individuals were invited to an open forum where a variety of presentations were delivered.  These focused on the way life has unfolded for the boys (past and present) and the positive impact the school has made on their lives.

Roseanna Cunningham MSP officially opened the new CrossReach Rainbow House on 09 November 2011.  The service which was previously in the Glasgow Southside will move to a purpose-built facility in the Scotstoun area of Glasgow.  It offers residential rehabilitation, support and social care to help people recover from addiction and regain control of their lives.  Thenue Housing’s development comprises of flats at the front as well as the new Rainbow House at the rear which CrossReach will lease from them.

Gaberston House  in Clackmannanshire won the Specialist Care Home of the year and Kirsteen Tillman from Cameron House in Inverness reached the finals in the Carer of the Year category of the Scottish care Awards!

The exciting launch of the Scottish Mental Health Arts and Film Festival took place in the Scottish Storytelling Centre on the 01 September and this year was hosted by NHS Lothian.

The festival will run from 01 - 24 October 2011 in various venues across the length and breadth of the country and will feature and mix of film, theatre, music, dance, comedy, literature and visual arts.

We are delighted to announce Eskmills has joined with the many other CrossReach services in achieving the Customer Service Excellence award.  A presentation made yesterday (04 August 2011) at a special event in the Quay (Musselburgh) was preceded by a "wonderful service" (Kenny MacAskill MSP) in St Andrews Church of Scotland.  Service Manager Graham Stewart accepted the award from CSE senior assessor Robert Sullivan and Graham praised his staff for their

Congratulations!

After wading through all the entries, a winner has finally been found for the 2011 competition.  13 year old Hannah Vullinghs from Peterculter Parish Church was successful in wooing the judges with her endearing Rudolph design (pun not intended!).

Thanks to the many people (young and not so young) who entered the competition - the judges thoroughly enjoyed looking through the designs and hope you will enter our next competition which will be underway in the Autumn.
