Mike Cantlay

Dr Mike Cantlay is Chair of the Scottish Funding Council and also Chair of Scottish National Heritage. 

Mike previously served as Chair of VisitScotland, Chair of Forth Valley College, Chair of Scottish Enterprise Forth Valley and he was an advisory member of the Board of Scottish Enterprise and VisitBritain, based in London. 

In 2006 Mike was elected Convener of the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park Authority and more recently, served as Chair of Highlands and Islands Airports Ltd. His family business is William Glen Ltd which operates tourism and leisure interests in Scotland, Canada and the USA.

Mike was awarded Public Sector Leader of the Year at the Scottish Leadership Awards 2012 and in 2014 was made an OBE for services to tourism and hospitality.

Mike and his family live in Callander where his wife Linda is Session Clerk to Callander Kirk.  He became an admirer of CrossReach, its mission and its fabulous people when his own mother entered care. Mike’s ambition on the Board is to help the organisation to thrive despite the challenges of the COVID-19 crisis.
