School's out!

Collection of images from prize giving at Erskine Waterfront

Pupils at Erskine Waterfront Campus are looking forward to the end of the school year, which gives us a great opportunity to look back and celebrate their fantastic achievements.

Staff and pupils work closely together to develop creative learning experiences that cover not just the academic side of school but also personal growth and increased confidence. This has resulted in some great events this year!

Class 1 grappled with an army assault course in Galston and despite the cold hose down at the end to remove the mud, worked brilliantly as a team, encouraging one another to get to the end.

Class 4 and senior pupils both hosted dining related events with a pop-up restaurant and a Come Dine with Me style meal. On the menu was budgeting, planning, cooking and constructive criticism, all the right ingredients to successfully dish up hospitality to one another. The staff received a nice meal from it too!

The school also works in partnership with the local community which offers the young people an opportunity to do work experience. This year, one of the pupils has been helping at Renfrew Golf Course and is looking forward to all the summer jobs that come along with tending the green, whilst another young person visited the Nurture Academy and was able to try out new skills which has helped them make decisions about their career choices.

Of course, no school year is complete without a prize giving, where everyone’s achievements are celebrated. This year over 30 prizes were handed out, with recognition ranging from awards in Triathlon and Sailing to Art and Working with Textiles, as well as National Qualifications spanning Nat 2 to Nat 4.

Phew! - well done to all the pupils at EWC, we look forward to catching up with you again at your Careers Day in September!
