Information

CrossReach recognise that having a baby is a challenging time in any parent’s life, with two in five parents experiencing emotional difficulties during pregnancy and early parenthood.  Left undetected and untreated the effects can go on for years and impact the whole family.

For over 30 years, our Perinatal Counselling and Therapy Service has provided a safe and welcoming Crèche, where parents feel completely comfortable leaving their children whilst they receive the support they need in order to move forward.

Our Crèche focuses on the therapeutic and holistic needs of each child and therefore we believe it is important to create a calm and fun environment for the children left in our care.  Therefore we usually have no more than six children at any one time (usually under the age of 2 but up to 5 years old) in our care.  We encourage our Crèche workers to play on a one to one basis so each child is getting attention and support in their own way as required.

Working within a supportive team, improving the lives of babies, children and their families you will be expected to work shifts as and when required within all age groups (Except Christmas and New Year Bank Holidays) which are designed to give parents the greatest flexibility.

The successful applicant will be required to register with the SSSC and ideally hold an SVQ in Social Services (Children & Young People) SCQF level 7 or equivalent.  In return we’ll make sure you have all the training and development you need, not only so you can do a great job, but to help you build your career with us too.  There’s also a benefits package that includes an employer contributory pension.

If you would like to talk to someone about the types of opportunities we have, or have any other questions, please contact recruitment.team@crossreach.org.uk  or Dawn McMechan at the Crèche.
