Staying connected

Some items from the Daisy Chain Activity Packs

Over at the Daisy Chain Early Years Project the team have been hard at work, finding new and innovative ways to continue supporting families of the service at home.

The Glasgow based project, which has currently suspended their sessions during the Covid 19 crisis, uses a whole range of activities to promote attachment between parent and child including play, literacy-based activities and the creative arts.

In the meantime, staff have been busy providing practical and emotional support to families. They have been sharing daily photos and ideas for activities as well as a variety of online resources that are accessible, informative and most importantly, fun! Future activities will include a focus on healthy eating, such as making soup together.

Last week each family received activity packs, delivered straight to their doors! The packs were made up from a variety of educational websites, including Twinkl and contain age appropriate worksheets for older children and fun activities focused on shape and colour recognition for the younger ones.

Families remain at the heart of Daisy Chain and in a bid to remain connected together, the team have set up a Facebook group to allow mums to chat together and offload some of their concerns at this time.
