Grateful and thankful

Lucie Conway (pictured), support worker at Tayside Support Services and organiser of the CrossReach Toy Recycle, was overwhelmed when she learned that over 1600 people in Dundee had taken time to select the initiative to be the winner of The Courier Christmas Charity Appeal. Speaking about the event Lucie said:

"We're helping 130 children this year and seeing the gratitude of their parents and that pressure lifted off their shoulders makes it all worth it"

The scheme will receive £1000 for being nominated as one of the four charities featured this year and an additional £1000 for being chosen by the readers as the winner.

Inspired by young Freya Skene, the Toy Recycle took place at The Friary in Dundee on Friday 18th December and saw local firms getting involved in the spirit of Christmas by donating transport; thank you to Menzieshill Community Centre and Arnold Clark.

"It will have made a real difference for so many people struggling this year; helping families, offering hope and encouragement."
